Lessons from COVID-19 and Making Virtual Connections: Infrastructure and Culture

Session Overview

The Managing Director of Accenture, Tenielle Colussi, utilises her background in organisational psychology to discuss culture and behaviour change within communications teams.

Tenielle explores how communications teams and leaders have responded to COVID-19. Tenielle suggests that organisations that handled the pandemic well were able to focus on the flexibility and skills of their workforce.

She used the example of the Australian Government, which was able to transfer public sector employees across multiple departments and to areas where they were needed most.

According to Tenielle, flexible and multi-skilled human capital has allowed communications teams, and organisations more generally, to cope with the aftershock of the pandemic.

After watching this video, you will:

  • Understand the importance of human capital and flexibility to managing crises like COVID-19.
  • Recognise the benefit of transparency and robust internal infrastructure within your organisation.
