 contentgroup is a content communications agency based in the heart of Canberra.  For the past 20 years, we have been helping our clients tell their stories, influence change and strengthen communities.

The role

The Communication Manager will take a key leadership role within the Client Services team, working closely with and reporting directly to the Client Services Manager.

Managing a team of consultants, the successful candidate will oversee development and implementation of content communication strategies, public relations and products for contentgroup’s clients.

 

The requirements

You will have significant experience in a strategic communication, marketing and/or public relations position. Experience in Government communication, including Defence, will be highly regarded.

A current baseline security clearance is highly desirable, but not essential.

You will be at ease working with multiple clients and have a proven track record in managing staff, budgets and timelines for complex projects.

You will also have excellent writing skills and knowledge of communication best practice.

contentgroup is seeking an experienced and energetic self-starter for the position of Communication Strategist.

The role

We are looking for a talented Communication Strategist to join our Client Services Team.  Reporting to one of our Communication Managers, you will be responsible for researching, developing, implementing and evaluating communication strategies for a range of clients.

The responsibilities

As a Communication Strategist, you will be a key contributor to the Client Services Team by delivering smart, relevant and unique strategies for our clients. The focus is on helping clients to tell their story and communicate messages in a simple, yet effective way. You will:

  • use the contentgroup communication framework to create and implement original content strategies for a range of clients and projects
  • produce high quality work within deadlines and within established budgets
  • work collaboratively to generate new ideas and solutions for clients
  • effectively measure and evaluate content and communication activities
  • create content for a variety of platforms and outlets, both traditional and digital.

The requirements

To be a successful Communication Strategist, you will be:

  • well-versed in the communications field, with more than 3 years’ professional experience in a variety of roles. Government experience, especially with Defence is preferred for this role, but not essential
  • experienced in managing and building client relationships
  • gifted with words and writing
  • comfortable working autonomously
  • aware and up to date on the latest trends in media, social media and online communications
  • able to think ‘big picture’ and strategically, but you will also be quick on your feet and have sound decision-making skills.
