Joint Cyber Directorate

Information Warfare Division, Department of Defence

The Joint Cyber Directorate within the Information Warfare (IW) Division of Defence required a two-hour webinar to promote the Defence opportunities to Australian companies in the cyber security industry.

The live event titled “Pathways into Defence Cyber: How to prepare and pitch”, aimed to engage industry and raise awareness of the opportunities readily available to them. It also sought to provide practical advice on navigating the Defence marketplace and pitching effectively to win work.

The Information Warfare Division collaborated with the Australian Cyber Security Network (AustCyber) and contentgroup to deliver the webinar event.

The scope of work included technical rehearsals and speaker liaison/set-up, live webinar support, and the supply of a post-event analytics report, a video recording of the event, and a full transcript for publication.

contentgroup and AustCyber have a positive relationship when it comes to collaboration in the digital and cyber security space. Together, they recently delivered a five-part educational webinar series as part of their strategic partnership and commitment to:

  • Enhance the success and sustainability of Australian cyber security companies through improved communication.
  • Develop the communication capability of Australian cyber security companies in the AustCyber network.

Personnel

A successful (high-quality technical and production service) delivery of this educational program resulted in AustCyber approaching contentgroup to support the IW team in delivering the Pathways into Defence Cyber event.

contentgroup worked closely with the AustCyber and IW teams to ensure that the specifications of the live webinar event met their needs and the audience would be engaged as effectively as possible. An introductory kick-off meeting was organised to discuss, clarify, and confirm project expectations and plans.

Our team was on-hand during the webinar providing live technical support and ensuring smooth delivery of the presentation. A live Q&A session was also conducted, resulting in high levels of audience participation.

A total of 7 speakers were in attendance (both in-studio and virtually); amongst them was Major General Marcus Thompson, who posted publicly about the event – reflecting on the importance and positivity of the engagement.
