Reablement & Wellness Podcast Series

Audio training products for the commonwealth home support program

CIT Solutions is providing training products for practitioners working in the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

They engaged contentgroup to produce a series of podcasts to sit alongside their training materials on “Reablement and Wellness”. The rationale behind the use of podcasts was to provide an informal layer of information on top of the formal modules, using real-life stories from practitioners, assessors, trainers and recipients of home care.

The podcasts were designed to reinforce the mantra of “Do with, not for” – i.e., helping people receiving home support to regain their independence, rather than just having everything done for them.

Our approach was to create a series that was not only informative but engaging. The episodes run for 10 – 20 minutes, designed to be easily consumed by practitioners in real-life situations such as when they are driving to a client’s home.

We engaged Andrew Bell, a producer/journalist with a wealth of experience in the BBC, ABC and many other broadcasters. Andrew wrote, interviewed and hosted the series. His charming presence was key to producing an engaging program series. The guests’ stories were interwoven with music, sound effects, and on-location scenarios, merging into a complete story arc over the eleven episodes.

Personnel

Australian Government Department of Health oversaw this series, and with their feedback, we worked closely with CIT Solutions to edit, refine and polish the episodes.

Some challenges arose when some interview guests strayed into unhelpful responses that muddied the desired messaging. However with, multiple revisions and edits we ensured that both CIT Solutions and the Department were happy with the final products.
