Work with Purpose
A podcast about the Australian Public Service
The Australian Public Service (APS) is playing a critical role in delivering the Australian Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Across all areas and levels of the APS, action is being taken to implement the policies of the Australian Government to support the Australian community.
Launched in March 2020, the Work with Purpose podcast gives listeners a unique perspective on how the APS works and how it is responding to this once-in-a-generation challenge.
In each episode, contentgroup’s CEO and Founder, David Pembroke, talks to key individuals in the APS who are leading the COVID-19 response.
Work with Purpose is produced in a partnership between contentgroup and the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA), with the support of the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC).
Notable guests on Work with Purpose have included:
- Peter Woolcott AO, Australian Public Service Commissioner
- Frances Adamson, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
- General Angus Campbell, Chief of the Defence Force
- Doctor Brendan Murphy, Australia’s Chief Medical Officer
- Kathryn Campbell AO CSC, Secretary of the Department of Social Services
Recordings are done either in-person, or over Zoom Video Conference or Zencaster. After recording, podcast deliverables are prepared (audio file, transcript, episode title and web copy, social media posts and visual tiles).
The episode audio, blurb, and visuals are then uploaded on Acast, an audio distribution platform that automatically syncs new episodes with Apple Podcast, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Google Podcast, Spotify, and YouTube.
Work with Purpose is quickly growing into an internationally played podcast with listeners in Canada, Belgium, and Sri Lanka.
As of July 1st, 2020, the podcast has over 10,200 downloads within its 13 episodes. Post engagement on the Work with Purpose Facebook page increased by 400% in May 2020.
