This week we’re joined by distinguished Australian journalist and publisher of The Mandarin, Tom Burton. In this episode we discuss how public sector organisations can become publishers.

Bio:

Tom is an award winning journalist, digital communicator and publisher of The Mandarin, Tom Burton. Tom led the digital transformation program at the Australian Communication and Media Authority where he oversaw the roll out of the social media practice and the launch of a new enterprise website. Incidentally, the program is a model for modern government engagement. During the 2000’s, Tom worked in Washington D. C. as an online communications director at the Centre for American Progress, as well at a series of B2B digital products covering government, telco’s and streaming media. He was also the former executive editor of the Sydney Morning Herald, and chief political correspondent for the Australian Financial Review. Tom also worked as a ministerial advisor to the communications minister Michael Duffy during the 1980’s. He’s also a regular media commentator and conference speaker on politics, communications, digital engagement and economics.
