They say time goes faster the older you get.
We’re not too sure if the same thing applies for businesses, but if it does, contentgroup’s 21st year sure has been a busy one.
With the festive season just around the corner, we hit the ‘pause’ button for a couple of seconds and asked members of the contentgroup team to reflect on their highlights of a busy year.
Over the last 12-months, we’ve continued to partner with a range of clients across the public and private sectors, helping them to deliver on their business objectives through effective communication.
Through these projects we’ve developed videos, graphics and written content. We’ve also provided strategic communication advice and training and public relations support.
While the foundations of what we provide are based on our own content communication framework, it’s the diversity of clients and people we help on a daily basis that keeps us ticking.
Here are some of our team’s highlights from the year:
“One of the most memorable moments was creating PowerPoint templates for the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY) and training their staff on how to use them. The templates themselves were fun to put together and had animated infographics for people to use and edit.
The challenge was teaching staff how to create interesting and engaging infographics with stat-heavy information; however, the hard work paid off, with the client providing great feedback with the result!

“I was really excited to be the project lead on contentgroup’s first delivery of webinar services for clients. From studio set up, platform procurement and production, it was great to see the service offering launch and ultimately deliver real value for our Department of Agriculture clients.
One of our first webinars contributed to the business outcome of a 100% increase in compliance for a particular customs procedure, within just two weeks of the webinar being held.”

“I had the chance to work with ACT Health on their website and intranet rewrite. This project was a great learning opportunity and provided me with a thorough understanding of the website and content design process.
One of my proudest moments of the year was seeing the 600+ pages and 170,000 words I wrote, go live!”

“My highlight…travelling with the Australian Cyber Security Trade Mission to San Francisco. We made daily video snapshots for AustCyber, showing how Aussie start-ups are making waves in Silicon Valley. The mission was centred around the giant RSA Conference and included a visit from the Cyber Security Minister. It was a hectic, but fun week.”

“In September, the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) held their fifth annual Women in Resources National Awards at Parliament House. The MCA engaged contentgroup to produce two videos showcasing the event and award winners. It was a fantastic opportunity to share the success stories of great women, gender diversity champions and companies in the resources industry.
The highlight for me was being able to work very closely with the client to produce a quality product in a timely manner – one that exceeded their expectations!”

“Best moment this year was conducting an event marketing workshop on behalf of Events ACT. I engaged with over 160 people from private sector businesses to not-for-profit organisations.
It was great to be able to share my skills and learnings with marketing and communication experts from all over Canberra. Best of all, the participants filled in a post-event survey and rated my presentation skills as excellent! It’s nice to feel your expertise appreciated.”

“In 2018 we conducted detailed website audits for National Health Funding Body (NHFB) and their affiliate, the Administrator. For the audit we reviewed content and design aspects of both sites, including but not limited to plain English, user interface, experience and information architecture.
We completed our review by providing recommendations for improvements and accompanied by best practice, industry examples. The complexity of how each site had originally been designed, coupled with the technical nature of the content made this a challenging, yet extremely insightful and rewarding project to be a part of.
A definite highlight!”

“In 2018 we designed the Annual Report for Woden Community Service (WCS), an important non-profit organisation in the Canberra region. This was a short turnaround project and the design team had to work together to come up with a document that was engaging, easy to read and in line with WCS existing brand guidelines.
On top of that, we were working with a great client who made it possible for us to sprint to deliver the project – just in time for their Annual General Meeting.”
– Caitlin
“The most satisfying project for me was the GEO Week 2019 announcement video for Geoscience Australia. The video comprised puzzle pieces that needed to acknowledge Australia’s history and celebrate our evolving innovative future.
Our video production process worked a treat in establishing the stakeholders and key messages that would influence the script and vision. It made for a seamless edit that our clients and their audience were extremely impressed by!”

And there you have it!
Here’s cheers to 2018 and we look forward to another big year in 2019.
