2025 in Review: Don’t Wait

Is that end of the year I can see up ahead? I hope so. I could do with the rest.

Another year of challenge and achievement. Opportunity and disappointment. Another year in business, I guess.

It’s never easy and as a wise friend once told me, “If it was easy, everyone would do it”.

This time last year, my family was preparing for a trip to Europe. 3 kids, 2 adults.

Our youngest was heading to England for a gap year so we decided Xmas and New Year in Italy would be fun, before a drive through England to Scotland, a flight to Ireland, and a stopover in Abu Dhabi on the way home.

It was great. Irreplaceable, happy memories.

In Florence, I spied a vacant bench near ‘David’, Michelangelo’s colossal masterpiece.

For the next hour, I sat with my son admiring the majesty of this 5 metre plus marble statue. The hands, the calves, the everything. Unforgettable.

Later that night, I squeezed into a crowded bar in a dark alley not far from the river we cheered home team Fiorentina to a 2-2 draw with arch-rivals Juventus. At the final whistle, there were hugs, tears, and more memories.

And so, it went on.

Day after day. Moment after moment.

I still have no idea what it cost, and most importantly, I still don’t care.

12 months on, that very same son is about to become a father for the first time.

Time moves fast, so if you want to make it count, ‘don’t wait’.

Don’t wait for permission. Don’t wait until you can afford it. Don’t wait until the right time. Don’t wait. Just do it.

To everyone who has participated in the contentgroup community this year, thanks.

We are grateful for your support and looking forward to doing it all again in 2026.
